When Massachusetts Coastal was awarded a state contract to operate many of the freight railroad lines in Eastern Massachusetts, they needed a professional looking web site, but they needed it fast. They called upon Jeff to get a web site up and running for them as quickly as possible.

By utilizing an existing template, but customizing it heavily and incorporating custom designed graphics which he created just for Massachusetts Coastal, Jeff was able to have a fully-functional web site ready for the customer and actually deployed on the web in only one day, start to finish, but a site that still reflected the unique character of Massachusetts Coastal nonetheless.

Technology: The site was developed in PHP to allow dynamic navigation menus. Notable features include a live RSS newsfeed which keeps the site constantly up to date with news and information related to the railroad industry, without the need for any intervention by the client whatsoever, as well as transparent integration with one of Jeff's other web sites, the NERAIL Railroad Photography Archive. This keeps the Massachusetts Coastal site content fresh and interesting, with new photographs of the railroad's trains constantly appearing on the site, all without the need for any manual updating of the site by the client.
