Vintage computer collecting is one of Jeff's career related hobbies.

CompTIA A+, Linux+, Network+, and I-Net+ certified, and is currently pursuing CompTIA Server+, and other specialization certifications.

Currently pursuing MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) certification, with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/Microsoft Exchange Server specialization.

Operates and assists with numerous personal and charity oriented web sites, including the popular NERAIL Photo Archives, a free service to the North American railfan and railroad community, and CURENation.org, a resource for survivors of cancer and other potentially terminal diseases, as well as those fighting such diseases.

Was the system operator of a public access computer bulletin board system (BBS) from 1985-1989.

Other career related hobbies and interests include vintage and antique computer and video game collecting and restoration, and embedded systems development.

Is the operator of tick.nullmodem.org, one of approximately 300 Internet time servers which form the NTP (Network Time Protocol) server pool, responsible for coordinating the Internet's standard, synchronized time system.

With his former company, the Xensei Corporation, was featured by Linux.org in early 2000 for outstanding technology achievements related to his work with custom designed high availability web site hosting technology.

His former company, the Xensei Corporation, was recognized under his management by Netscape Corporation and became the first ISP in Massachusetts to be awarded compatibility certification by Netscape and Shiva Corporation's joint compatibility testing program for web and dial-up Internet services.

Was named one of the Boston area's Digital Masters by the Boston Globe/boston.com in October of 2000, and was featured that same year in the DigitalMASS Business Technology series, which showcased outstanding technology experts from various fields.

Completed various Novell Netware and PC and Mainframe FOCUS courses and certifications early in his career, and continues to expand his knowledge of technology at every possible opportunity.
